5th Uppsala Transposon Symposium going fully virtual!

In the light of continued unpredictability in international travel, we decided with a heavy heart to postpone the livestreamed in-person symposium to 2022. This year’s free symposium will be fully virtual like last year.

Motivation

The 5th Uppsala Transposon Symposium aims at bringing together experts in transposon and retrovirus research to distcuss interactions between TEs/retroviruses and their hosts. A special focus of this free symposium series is to give early-career participants the chance to present their research in a regular talk or lightning talk to a diverse audience.

Invited speakers:

Virtual format!

To accommodate as many time zones as possible and limited attention spans during virtual meetings, the symposium will run from 15:00-19:00 CEST on each of the two symposium days. There will be 2 invited talks (15+5 minutes) and 13 regular talks (5+3 minutes) will be selected from abstracts. All other selected abstracts will be in the format of lightning talks followed by a poster presentation. Each lightning talk will serve as an appetizer for the poster session, and we have space for up 40 lightning talk/poster presentations. Each poster session will take place in multiple Zoom breakout rooms for participants to move between. Each symposium day will be concluded by a round table discussion with the speakers and the audience, followed by the opportunity for open discussions and socializing. Please bring your own beverages!
